Air Intake Soffits

Storm-proof Soffit Ventilation Grilles

The “soffit” ventilation grilles can be built from pre-painted steel or any other type of raw material, so as to suit your specifications.

This product is design to prevent water or snow infiltration from blowing rain or snow. There are regions where the snow is so fine that it makes its way through the soffit into the attic causing considerable damage within the attic space and the rooms below.

Builders complain that the insulation is blown away near the eaves over the outside wall, leaving this part of ceiling bare, causing undesirable heat loss during the cold season not to mention the damage from ice damming.

The unit is often used for regions where fire code will prevent the use of regular soffits over a window or doors for risk of spreading the fire up into the attic. It has also been used to discourage rodents that make there way into the attic through the soffits.

Buildings that are close to dirt roads, gravel roads, or even windy area where there is dust in the air which blocks the openings in the soffits, preventing attic air circulation. A long awaited product for the architects, engineers and builders.

Air Intake Soffits

50% Air Intake Soffit

This soffit was created to allow for more air intake at the eaves. A regular soffit vent will allow for between 3% to 7% of air intake per sq. ft. as for the Maximum 50/50 soffit will allow for 50% of air intake per sq. ft.

Needed for situations where the overhang at the eaves were built to short, thus allowing for very limited air intake. The Maximum soffit will help improve air intake in this situation by 43% to 47%.

Needed for situations where a dormer takes much of the roof area at the eaves, not allowing for any possible air intake, except for each side of the dormer, which can be very ventilated.

Needed for situations where the roof is longer on one side that the other and the attic ventilation system tends to draw more from the shorter side. By installing the Maximum 50 /50 soffit vent, it will allow for less restriction of the air flow on the longer slope, thus balancing the air flow for an even draw of air intake.
